President and CEO
Robert Lisy joined Intermex in 2009 with over 18 years of experience in retail financial services and electronic payment processing. Before joining Intermex as President and CEO, Lisy was the Chief Marketing and Sales Officer of Vigo Remittance Corp. from 2002 to 2006 where he developed the company’s strategic growth plan culminating in the sale of the company to First Data Corporation. Lisy was a founding partner of Direct Express/Paystation America, an electronic walk-in bill payment processor. For more than four years, he served as COO and Board Member, and later contributed to the successful transfer of the company in 2000 to American Payment Systems, the largest processor of walk-in payments in the country at the time. From 1991 to 1998, Lisy was instrumental in the development of Western Union’s international funds transfer business and held various executive positions in the areas of marketing and operations. He also served as Vice President of Biller Solutions for Princeton e-commerce, a top Internet bill payment processor. Lisy holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance and Economics from Cleveland State University.
Darrell J. Ebbert
Chief Financial Officer
Darrell Ebbert joined Intermex in 2001 as CFO, and is responsible for the Company’s financial operations, including financial reporting, accounting, and collections. He also maintains the Company’s U.S. banking relationships. Prior to joining Intermex, he was an Audit Manager for the global accounting firm of Price Waterhouse Coopers. Ebbert is a Florida Certified Public Accountant and holds a Master’s degree in Accounting, a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting, and an Associate of Arts in Business Data Processing.
Jose A Perez-Villarreal,CAMS
Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Compliance Officer
Jose Perez-Villarreal joined Intermex in 2000 as Director of Treasury and became Chief Compliance Officer in 2005. In 2009, he was promoted to Chief Administrative Officer acquiring the additional responsibility for overseeing the Company’s subsidiary operations in Mexico and Guatemala. His efforts in developing the company’s internal compliance programs have resulted in Intermex being recognized as “Best in Class” in the industry. Prior to joining Intermex, Perez was the Operations Manager for a Miami-based money transmitter. Jose studied computer science and finance at University of Central Florida and Barry University, and holds the designation of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS).
Vice President of Business Development and Pricing
Eduardo Azcarate joined Intermex in 2007 after he led the Company’s acquisition and integration of his previous employer. Azcarate is the Vice President of Business Development and Pricing and is responsible for strategic alliances with international payer correspondents. He also oversees the Company’s pricing strategies and internal sales organization. Azcarate has been active in the money transfer business since 1999. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from ICESI University in Cali, Colombia.
Chief Information Officer
William joined Intermex in 2013 as Chief Information Officer and oversees the Company’s information technology strategy and operations, serving as a liaison for the business units. William has held key positions in both the health care (Abarca Health) and strategic consulting industries (Accenture, PwC). He holds an MBA from the Wharton School, an MA in International Studies from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico.
Chief Marketing and Sales Officer
Brian Augustin joined Intermex in 2012 and is responsible for the Company’s Sales Team. Prior to joining Intermex in January of 2012, Augustin was the Regional Vice President for The Princeton Review, overseeing the operations, sales, and marketing activities key US states and Puerto Rico. Earlier in his career he worked for Moneygram where he oversaw the sales organization for the Eastern US.
Augustin holds an MBA from the University of Minnesota and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Minnesota State University.
Vice President of Marketing
Robert Dinkins joined Intermex in 2013 as Vice President of Marketing with 20 years of experience in the money transfer and consumer products industries, establishing a successful track record at companies such as Western Union, Vigo, Sony, and Corning. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and holds an International MBA from the Thunderbird Global School of Management.
